Question 44868: Scenario: Pipe A can fill a tank in 25hrs. Pipe B alone requires 15hrs to fill the same tank. Pipe C operating alone. Starting with an empty tank, pipes A&B are opened at the same time. After filling for three hrs, the drain is accidentally opened. Use the steps below to determine how many additional hrs. it will take to completely fill the tank. I can figure out what fraction of the tank is filled in the initial 3 hrs. What I cant figure out is what fraction of the tank will be filled by pipe A in the additional hrs. and the same for pipe B.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Can't do it as you have posted it.
What about Pipe C.
And at what rate does the drain operate?
