It is unclear when Roger started painting.
If they both painted from the beginning and finished it in an hour then we can calculate that Tony can do the job in 7/2 hours and can do 1/3.5 or 2/7 in one hour
let x be Roger's part
2/7+x=1
x=5/7
so Roger can do 5/7 in one hour
and can do the whole job in 7/5 hours or 1 2/5 hours or 1 hour and 24 minutes
The problem is poorly worded.
Does the question mean that Tony started the job and Roger has to finish it alone or that Roger would be doing the whole job alone?
