40 minutes is 2/3 of one hour.
We can say that she read 80 pages in 8/3 hours.
She needs to read 118 - 80 or 38 pages.
80 pages/38 pages = 8/3 hours/x hours
Find x and then add the hours to 8:30pm to find out when she will finish reading the book.
80x = 38(8/3)
80x = 304/3
x = 304/3 divided by 80
x = 19/15 hours
x = 1 hour and 27 minutes
Then:
8:30pm + 1 hour and 27 minutes = 9:57pm
