Since the smaller hose takes 3 times as long as the larger hose to fill the pool, when they are working together the larger hose does 3/4 of the work and thesmaller hose does 1/4 of the work.

That means in 30 minutes the smaller hose fills 1/4 of the pool; therefore it would take the smaller hose 30*4=120 minutes to fill the pool alone.
