Mr. Y clears  1%2F3  of the field area per day.


Working together, they clear  1%2F6 + 1%2F3 = 1%2F6+%2B+2%2F6 = 3%2F6 = 1%2F2  of the field area per day.


It means that they clear the field in 2 days working together.
