You can put this solution on YOUR website!
pipe A fills in 0.8 hours or 48 minutes
In 1 minute, it fills (1/48) of the tank.
pipe B fills in 1.2 hours or 72 minutes
in 1 minute, it fills (1/72) of the tank.
The time it takes for both is x minutes.
Therefore (x/48)+(x/72)=1 full tank
Multiply by 144, the common denominator.
3x+2x+144
5x=144 minutes
x=144/5=28.8 minutes

------------
0.8*1.2/(0.8 + 1.2) hours
= 0.96/2 hours
= 0.48 hours
