Question 659128: Direction: Divide and simplify if possible.
cuberoot(x^2+5x+6)/cuberoot(x+2)
I did the following and got stuck: cuberoot(x^2+5x+6/x+2)=Cuberoot(5x+3)
I canceled out an x from the top and divided 6 by 2 to get the answer.
The book says I should have got cuberoot(x+3) for the answer. What is the correct way to solve this?

it has the radical equation sign I think its called it look like the old division like a check mark so it is that under it is x+10 than =x-2. Could you please help me

Question 661035: Hello! I've tried this website once and it really worked! So here's my question involving radical expressions:
Instruction(s): Find all real solutions in each equation.
1.) √(x-3)+1=√(x+2)
So I have tried to go to other websites such as Mathway, which had an answer of 7, but unfortunately, you have to pay to have the solutions.(can you please add solutions) Please answer back because I really need this tomorrow for school. Thanks a lot! More Power to you and algebra.com!

Question 663668: find a quadratic equation having the given roots.
{1/4-sqrt(-5)/4, 1/4+ sqrt(-5)/4}
the 4 is not under the radical sign.
in the book it shows 1+i sqrt5 and 1-i sqrt5 all divided by 4
I had an answer on another site of:
-a = Sum of roots
b = Product of roots.
So in this case,
a = -1/4
b = 6/4 = 3/2
Therefore the equation is x2 - x/4 + 3/2 = 0
But when I put this in a quadric equation solver it is not correct. I get a=-1/2 but that doesn't work either.

Question 664969: rope is square root 250 units long. it is cut into 2 pieces so the lengths are in ratio of 3:2. what is the length of the longer piece expressed in simplest radical form? do I set it up as x/ sq.rt.250=5/3: I end up with 25*sq.rt. 10 over 3. I don't think this is right.
