Question 605581: Hi, I am doing a homework assignment and we are dealing with extraneous solutions. I am unfortunately stuck on a problem. I am working in a Glencoe McGraw-Hill California Algebra 1 textbook for 7th and 8th graders.
The instructions are:Solve each equation. State any extraneous solutions. I am on problem three which states: (x+2)/(x-2) - 2/x+2 = -7/3

I have tried dividing everything by 9 first, but I didn't know if I needed for that to be first or if I find half of the coefficient and square it first.
