Question 359732: Hello, could you please help me solve this equation. I initially tried solving by squaring both sides but the result seemed to be something awful. When I subtracted 4 from both sides and then squared both sides, my answer was x = 15/4
This is the equation:
4 + sqrt(10-x) = 6 + sqrt(4-x) solve for x
thank you.

Question 359998: Hi, I'm reviewing for a test and I'm having serious problems with radicals. I've
shown my progress thus far, which may or may not be correct.
sqrt(15x + 4) = 4 - sqrt(2x + 3)
square both sides:
15x + 4 = 16 - 8sqrt(2x + 3) + 2x + 3
simplify and gather like terms, then square both sides again (?)
(13x - 15)^2 = (-8sqrt(2x + 3)^2
The teacher gave us the answer of 11/169 and when finishing the problem like this, my answer was far off. Could you please walk me through this problem so I understand the steps? Thank you so much for your help :-)

Question 362085: Find the vertex, x-intercept(s), and y-intercept of the parabola given by y=7x^2+21x-378. If the parabola does not have any x-intercepts, enter NONE for both coordinates of both intercepts. If it has exactly one x-intercept, enter it as the first intercept and enter NONE for both coordinates of the second intercept. If it has two x-intercepts list them in increasing order.

Question 363971: A student incorrectly claims that
5+ [sqrt] 2 / [sqrt] 18 = 2
How could you convince the student that a mistake has been made? How would you explain the correct way of rationalizing the denominator? Using the equation editor, correctly show how to work this problem.

Question 364383: Please help me solve this equation:
Let f(x)=x^2+2x-1 and g(x)=2x-4. Find 2f(x)-3g(x).
What I have tried was:
2(x^2+2x-1)-3(2x-4)
(2x^2+4x-2)-(6x+12)
2x^2-2x-14
The answer is supposed to be 2x^2-2x+10, but I don't see how you get that.

Question 364377: Use synthetic division to show that x is a solution of the third- degree polymonial equation, and use the result to factor the polymonial completely.
List all real zeros of the function.
x^3 - x^2 - 13x -3 =0
Value of x = 2 - square root 5

Question 364929: Find solution to :
[sqrt](2k-1) - [sqrt](k-1) = 1
So far I have added [sqrt](k-1) to both sides of equation in order to isolate one radical.
Now I have to square both sides
([sqrt](2k-1))squared = ([sqrt](k-1) +1)squared
2k-1= ([sqrt](k-1)+1))*([sqrt](k-1)+1))
Somewhere later in my problem I think I am not simplifying correctly. I ended up with :
(k-1)/2 = [sqrt]k-1
so then I was back to squaring both sides of my equation
