Question 1119299: Variable in the Radicand?
I've been staring at this for just about an hour now, and for some reason my brain just won't process it. I'd love some help on this!
Look at the following expression. Are there any values of x for which the expression is not defined under the set of real numbers? Explain your reasoning.
4/ square root of (x+2)
Rewrite the following expression by rationalizing the denominator.

Question 1119879: 3. The time for a swing to move forward and backward can be determined by the formula t=2 pie square toot l/9.8 T represents the time, in seconds, taken by the swing to move through one complete cycle (forward and back) and L represents the length of the rope supporting the swing.
Determine the length of the rope supporting a swing that takes 3.4 seconds to move through one complete cycle. Show all steps and round the answer to the nearest tenth of a metre.

Question 1120650: 1.) Explain the relationship between radical equations and complex numbers. What are the most important things to keep in mind when working with radical equations and complex numbers?
2.) We know that the square root of -1 is i. Going a bit further: what is the square root of i? [Hint: the square root of i will be a complex number, of the form a + bi. So, (a+bi)*(a+bi) = i. FOIL the left side, come up with equations relating a and b, and see if you can solve the system.

Question 1124907: Help needed please. Need to simplify. x and y represent non-negative real numbers.
∛((-27y^18)/(81x^6 ))
When I multi[ply by the conjugate to find the answer, as shown below, I think I'm messing up.
-∛y^6/∛3x^2(∛3x^2/∛3x^2)
Is this correct? For some reason this area of study isn't clicking.
Advice on how to go about solving would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Question 1124962: I am asked to perform the indicated operations, and simplify; however, I don't believe this question can be simplified. Am I wrong?
(√2x-5)^2
I assume the only way to go about this is to break it apart:
(√2x-5)(√2x-5) but this only puts it back together.
Am I missing something? I cant believe they would ask a question without an answer.
Thank you!
