Question 88235: I have to simplify this radical equation: 8sqrt.2 - 6sqrt.7, but am I right in thinking that this radical equation CANNOT be simplified? So, there's no solution? Or am I way off track? Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated!
Thank you!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You cannot combine the two square roots. The only thing you can do is factor out the GCF of 2
2%284%2Asqrt%282%29-3%2Asqrt%287%29%29

but other than that, no further simplification can be done. So I would say that you are correct (it really depends on what your book or your teacher says).
