sqrt%284x%2B1%29=-3 right now you can tell there is no solution because you don't get negative answers when you take the square root of things, but for giggles lets keep trying to solve this.

4x%2B1=9
4x%2B1-1=9-1
4x=8
4x%2F4=8%2F4
x=2
This looks like a solution, but when we check it by substitution, we find that it is extraneous.
