You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Try graphing it and you will see:

x=0 is the obvious answer and it checks out fine.

Solve
√(2x+1)+ √(x+4) = 3
==============
Square both sides
2x%2B1+%2B+x%2B4+%2B+2sqrt%282x%2B1%29%2A%28x%2B4%29+=+9
2sqrt%282x%2B1%29%2A%28x%2B4%29+=+4+-+3x
----
Square again
4%282x%2B1%29%2A%28x%2B4%29+=+16+-+24x+%2B+9x%5E2
8x%5E2+%2B+36x+%2B+16+=+16+-+24x+%2B+9x%5E2
x%5E2+-+60x+=+0
x = 0 using the positive values
-------
x = 60 using the negative values

When solved, highlight%28x+=+60%29, or highlight%28x+=+0%29, but since highlight%28x+=+60%29 is an extraneous solution, then highlight_green%28x+=+0%29 (see graph below)
is the sole solution.

You can do the check!!
