It's an irrational number, meaning that there is no fraction or decimal number exactly equal to it.

Simplifying:
sqrt%2820%29=sqrt%284%2A5%29=sqrt%284%29%2Asqrt%285%29=2sqrt%285%29

Approximating:
One of my calculators says that sqrt%2820%29 is 4.4721359, and another one says 4.472135955, but those are just approximations.

NOTE: You can write "square root of 20" as "sqrt(20)" here, just as you can write 3^2 for 3%5E2 and x^4 for x%5E4.
