You did this correctly. As always you can plug in y=23 into y to check the answer.
note: since we squared the square root we'll only be looking for the positive square root
Check:
sqrt%28y%2B2%29=5
sqrt%2823%2B2%29=5 Plug in y=23
sqrt%2825%29=5
5=5 works. So this verifies our answer
