Now, square both sides - recall how to square a binomial:
y%2B10=4%2B4sqrt%28y-2%29%2By-2
The single y's on each side of the equation cancel, so you have:
10=2%2B4sqrt%28y-2%29
Now, get the sqrt alone on one side:
4sqrt%28y-2%29=8
sqrt%28y-2%29=2
