You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve
a) sqrt%282x%2B1%29 + 5 = 8
subtract 5 from both sides and you have:
sqrt%282x%2B1%29 = 3
Square both sides and you have
2x + 1 = 9
subtract 1 from both sides
2x = 8
divide both sides by 2
x = 4

Check solution in original problem
sqrt%282%284%29%2B1%29 + 5 = 8
sqrt%289%29 + 5 = 8
