Question 553154: I have two questions it says review the expressions below, In a paragraph, describe how to simplify each expression.
1. 16to the power of 1/2. Now i need you to understand that the 1/2 is above the 16 its little so you get it right.
2. this one im not sure how im suppose to show you it has like a check mark and a line then under the line it has 100 im not sure what that is called im sorry but the check mark is hooked on the line if that helps you at all sort of looks like a old style division problem almost. Raising something to the 1/2 power is the same as taking the square root. What number whem multiplied by itself is equal to 16. Hint 3 times 3 is 9 and 5 times 5 is 25.
and
This means to take the positive square root of the value inside.
What number when multiplied by itself is 100?
to render these expressions in plain text use ^ to indicate raising to a power and sqrt to indicate square root. I.e. you should have rendered your expressions as 16^(1/2) and sqrt(100).
