Question 547807: x-sqrt%282x%29-4=2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-sqrt%282x%29-4=2
Let's get the square root on one side and everything else on another to get:
x-sqrt%282x%29-4%2Bsqrt%282x%29-2=2%2Bsqrt%282x%29-2
x-6=sqrt%282x%29
Now to get rid of the square root, we do the opposite of square root which is square both sides to get:
%28x-6%29%5E2=%28sqrt%282x%29%29%5E2
%28x-6%29%5E2=2x
%28x-6%29%28x-6%29=2x
Using the foil rule we get:
x%5E2-12x%2B36=2x
x%5E2-12x%2B36-2x=2x-2x
x%5E2-14x%2B36=0

I will let you try the rest from here... this is just a quadratic-- we know how to solve for x in this case (((HINT: you have a special RULEs for QUADRATICS)))
Let me know if you are still unsure where to go from here! Good luck!
