add 6 to both sides of the equation to get:

combine like terms to get:

+sqrt%28x%2B5%29+=+4

square both sides of the equation to get:

subtract 5 from both sides of the equation to get:

x+=+11

that's your answer.

substitute 11 for x in the original equation to get:
