"^" means exponentiation. And there must something in front of an exponent. An exponent cannot be the first thing in any expression.
Radicals can be hard to post in a way that we tutors can understand. SO I suggest that you ask someone to explain to you how to read your expression. Then post your problem partly or completely in English.
Another option would be to poke around the some of the solutions to radical problems on Algebra.com, find one that has expressions similar to yours, and then click on the "Show source" link that you will find just above the solution. From looking at the source you can teach yourself how tutors use Algebra.com's syntax for displaying mathematical expressions.
