Notice, we can rewrite the numerator as:
%28x%5E2-2%5E2%29+%2F+%28x-2%29
Since, the numerator is now a "difference of squares" we can factor:
%28%28x-2%29%28x%2B2%29%29+%2F+%28x-2%29
Canceling like-terms:
x%2B2
