%28x%2B4%29%5E2%2F16=%28x%2B1%29%2F1

cross mulitiplying to solve for s

(x+4)^2 = 16(x+1)

x^2 + 8x + 16 = 16x + 16

x^2 -8x = 0

x(x-8) = 0

x = 0

(x-8) = 0

x = 8
