You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A square flower bed is to be enlarged by adding 3 feet to each side. If the larger square has an area of 169 feet, what is the length of the orginal square?
.
Let x = original length of one side of square box
then
(x+6)^2 = 169
x+6 = 13
x = 7 feet
