Question 279658: (-7+√69)/2,(-7-√69)/2
These are my exact solutions, need to find approximate solution to the 3 decimals, the answers are 0.653 and -7.653, but I do not know how they come up with these decimal answers, every way I try I get something different, could you show me step by step how they come up with these decimal numbers,
Thankyou

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I assume you are allowed to use a calculator to solve for sqrt%2869%29
So let's do that
%28-7+%2Bsqrt%2869%29%29%2F2
-7+%2B+8.3066%29%2F2
1.3066%2F2
0.6533 when rounded to 3 decimals
0.653
Same thing going the other way
%28-7+-sqrt%2869%29%29%2F2
-7+-8.3066%29%2F2
-15.3066%2F2
-7.6533 when rounded to 3 decimals
-7.653

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt(69)=8.306
sqrt(69)/2=8.3066/2=4.153
7/2=-3.5
(-7+sqrt(69))/2
-3.5+4.153=.653
(-7-sqrt(69))/2
-3.5-4.153=-7.653
