fractional exponents are another way of writing roots:


sqrt%282x%29 is the same as %282x%29%5E%281%2F2%29

and so nth root of say x is %28x%29%5E%281%2Fn%29

Is this an easier way of understanding roots? Shrugs here...it is just another weapon in your maths arsenal to solve questions. Sometimes keeping roots and sometimes keeping fractional exponents will help.
