You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given:sqrt%281-3x%29+=+x%2B1 solve for x:
sqrt%281-3x%29+=+x%2B1 Square both sides of the equation.
%28sqrt%281-3x%29%29%5E2+=+%28x%2B1%29%5E2
1-3x+=+x%5E2%2B2x%2B1 Add 3x to both sides.
1-3x%2B3x+=+x%5E2%2B2x%2B3x%2B1 Simplify.
1+=+x%5E2%2B5x%2B1 Subtract 1 from both sides.
0+=+x%5E2%2B5x Factor an x from the right side.
0+=+x%28x%2B5%29 Apply the "zero product" rule.
x+=+0 or x%2B5+=+0
If x%2B5+=+0 then x+=+-5
So the solutions are:
x+=+0
x+=+-5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt%281-3x%29=x%2B1

Step 1. Square both sides of the equation to get rid of the square root sign.

%28sqrt%281-3x%29%29%5E2=%28x%2B1%29%5E2

1-3x=x%5E2%2B2x%2B1

Step 2. Add -1+3x to both sides of the equation to get a quadratic equation

1-3x-1%2B3x=x%5E2%2B2x%2B1-1%2B3x

0=x%5E2%2B5x

Step 3. Factor out the x

x%28x%2B5%29=0

x=0 and x%2B5=0 or x=-5

Step 4. ANSWER: The solutions are x=0 and x=-5

I hope the above steps were helpful.
