I am not sure if that root extends to the -5 term by it doesnt appear so.
:
root%283%2Cx%29-5=3
:
root%283%2Cx%29=8---->added 5 to both sides
:
%28root%283%2Cx%29%29%5E3=8%5E3--->cube both sides
:
highlight%28x=512%29--->cube root of x cubed is just x
:
if by chance the first term was like thisroot%283%2Cx-5%29then you would start out cubing both sides and get x-5=27 and x would equal 33
