Question 143530: I just want to make sure I have the right answer, if I don't could you please explain the steps to me.
Problem---Find the perimeter of a rectangle if the dimensions are length √19 + 7 and width √76.
Here is my work
“Sqrt19 + 7”^2 + “sqrt76”^2 = perimeter
19 +7 + 76 = perimeter
26 + 76 = perimeter
102 = Perimeter
Perimeter = 102

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Perimeter of any rectangle: P=2%2AL%2B2%2AW=2%28L%2BW%29

P=2%28L%2BW%29 Start with the second form of the perimeter formula (either form will work)

P=2%28sqrt%2819%29%2B7%2Bsqrt%2876%29%29 Plug in L=sqrt%2819%29%2B7 and W=sqrt%2876%29

P=2%28sqrt%2819%29%2B7%2B2%2Asqrt%2819%29%29 Rewrite sqrt%2876%29=sqrt%284%29%2Asqrt%2819%29=2%2Asqrt%2819%29

P=2%283%2Asqrt%2819%29%2B7%29 Combine like terms

P=6%2Asqrt%2819%29%2B14 Distribute

So the perimeter is P=6%2Asqrt%2819%29%2B14
