one of my questions is
square root of 5x (no longer under radical) minus 2 equals 3 Found 2 solutions by checkley77, Edwin McCravy:Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! sqrt(5x)-2=3
sqrt(5x)=3+2
sqrt(5x)=5 now square both sides.
5x=5^2
x=25/5
x=5 answer.
proof:
sqrt(5*5)-2=3
sqrt(25)=3+2
5=5

one of my questions is
Isolate the radical on the left by adding 2 to both sides
Now square both sides of the equation:
When you square a square root, you take away the radical:
Divide both sides by 5:
But you MUST check square root equations because sometimes
an answer you get won't check in the original equation:
Substitute for
So the solution checks.
