You can put this solution on YOUR website! 5*( square root of X) + 1 = 3
5sqrt(x) + 1 = 3
5sqrt(x) = 2
sqrt(x) = 2/5
x = 4/25
---------------------------------------
c) 2/3=2-(5x-3)/(x-1)
(5x-3)/(x-1) = 4/3
3(5x-3) = 4(x-1)
15x-9 = 4x-1
11x = 8
x = 8/11
-----------------------------
2) Solve algebraically and check your potential solutions:
(square root of t+12)- t =0
sqrt(t+12) = t
t+12 = t^2
t^2-t-12 = 0
(t-4)(t+3) = 0
t = 4 or to = -3
-----------
Checking:
If t=4, sqrt(16) = 4 which is true
--------
If to -3, sqrt(9) = -3 which is false
---------
Final answer: t = 4
==============================
3) The volume of a cube is given by V = s3, where s is the length of a side. Find the length of a side of a cube if the volume is 700 in3. Round the answer to three decimal places.
I have s^3= 700 is this right( can you show me how to solve that)
Answer:
V = s^3
700 = s^3
s = cube root of 700
s = 8.879..
