I suspect you meant 'cube root', so your equation should look like

%28root%283%2C%283x%2B2%29%29%29-1=1
Add 1 to both sides
root%283%2C%283x%2B2%29%29=2
Cube both sides
3x%2B2=8
Subtract 2 from both sides
3x=6
Divide both sides by 2
x=2
