l = length
w = width
Perimeter = (l+w)*2 = 450
Area = lw = 8750
l = 8750/w
8750%2Fw+%2Bw%292+=+450
8750%2Fw+%2B+w%29+=+225
8750+%2B+w%5E2+=+225w
w%5E2-225w%2B+8750+=+0
%28w-50%29%28w-175%29=0
w=50ft+or+175ft
In other words,
l=175ft+or+50ft
The dimensions that she should use = 50ft by 175ft.
