Question 1075528: Hi,
I am working on a project and its asking me for a quadratic equation in standard form with 2 irrational solutions and the graph opens down. Can you give me an example of that?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
SIMPLE Example...

Starting with y=x%5E2, concave up; but you want concave downward...

y=-x%5E2, but still intersects the x-axis; you want to have NO x-axis intercepts.

highlight_green%28y=-x%5E2-1%2F5%29
Now, no more x-intercepts. Concave down. If you solve for the "solutions" when y=0, they will be two Complex numbers, neither Real numbers.

Infinitely many examples will also fit what you asked.
y=-%281%2F3%29%28x%2B2%29%5E2-7

y=-2%28x-1%29%5E2-1
