Question 1031062: Hello tutors! Please help me with the question below :)

A cylindrical can of soup has a volume of 170 cubic inches. The radius of the soup is found using the formula r=√V/πh, where r is the radius, V is the volume of the can, and h is the height of the can.

a.) If the height of the can is 6 inches, find its radius to the nearest inch.

b.) If the radius of the can is 3 inches, find its height to the nearest inch.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(a) You have the formula so you just make the substitution and evaluate.

(b) The skill is, "Solve for any variable in a formula".

The basic formula is V=h%2Api%2Ar%5E2, from which you can solve for h or solve for r. You are given one of them, as r=sqrt%28V%2F%28pi%2Ah%29%29. Question #b asks for h when V and r are given. SOLVE THE FORMULA FOR h. You need Multiplicative Inverse Property and Multiplication Property of Equality.
