Question 141095: I need to Identify the conic section, then place in standard form. The equation is: 4x^2+y^2+8x-4y-28=0
This is as far as i have been able to solve it.
(4x^2+8x)+(y^2-4y)=28
[4(x+1)^2-1]+(y-2)^2-4=28
+4 +4
4(x+1)^2+(y-2)^2-1=32
+1 +1
4(x+1)^2/33+(y-4)^2/33=1
any help you can give would be wonderful. Thank you.
