Question 688050: How do I put the equation in standard form? The vertices and the center of the equation are also needed:
-16x^2-4y^2=48x-20y+57
I did try to solve it using completing the square but it didn't work out the correct way, because the numbers I came up with I was not able to factor them.

Question 691499: Find the intersection points of the pair of ellipses. Sketch the graphs of each pair of equations on the same coordinate axes and label the points on the intersection. Show proper algebra.
{4x^2+y^2=4
{4x^2+9y^2=36
I have already graphed them using a graphing system called geogebra. I need to know how to show my work though ( I need the proper algebra)

Question 691514: Find the vertex, focus and directrix and sketch the graph of the parabola from the equation (x+1)^2 + 8(y+2)=0.
First, I got the vertex (-1,-2), h=-1 k=-2. Next I tried to find teh focus but wanted to get "p" first. So 4p=8 p=2
Using the formula to get the focus (h,k+p) I get (-1,-2+2)-(1,0) but when I looked at my answer book it said that p=-2 and the focus is (-1,-4). What may I be doing wrong.

Question 692383: PART 1: The graph of the equation y^2-x^2+2x=2 is:
PART 2: The graph of the equation y-x^2=2x
a. parabola
b. elipse
c. circle
d. hyperbola
e. none of these
Part 1 Solve:
y^2-x^2+2x=2
???????????
Part 2 Solve:
y-x^2=2x
y=x^2+2x
(parabola)
That's all I got, I don't know how I would solve part 1 to figure out what kind it is and I'm pretty sure part 2 is right. If anyone can solve part 1 it would help a lot
