Question 202383: Can anyone help me with ANY of these problems? Please!
1) Solve the following system.
x^2 + y^2 = 25
2x + y = 10
The solution set {(___,___),(___,___)}
2) Complete the following item based on the given information.
The volume of a box(V) varies directly with its length(l). Using k for the constant of proportionality, express the relationship between V and l if V varies directly with l.
V = _______
3) Complete the following item based on the given information.
The volume of a box(V) varies directly with its length(l). If one of the boxes has a volume of 325 cubic inches and a length of 13 inches, what is the constant of proportionality for the group of boxes?
k = ________
4) Complete the following item based on the given information.
The volume of a box(V) varies directly with its length(l). If a box in the group has a length of 25 inches and k = 15, what is its volume?
_____ cubic inches
5) Complete the following item based on the given information.
The volume of a box(V) varies directly with its length(l). If a box in the group has a length of 30 inches, and the girth of 20 inches (perimeter of the side formed by the width and height), what is its height? Use k = 24. (Hint: Volume = length * width * height. Solve for length, and substitute into the equation for constant of proportionality.)

Choose the correct conic section to fit each equation. Is it a Circle, Ellipse, Parabola, or Hyperbola?
1) x^2 + y^2 = 16
2) (x - 8)^2 + (y - 12)^2 = 25
3) (x^2/9) + (y^2/4) = 1
4) y = (1/8 x^2)
5) x = (1/16 y^2)
6) (x^2/16) - (y^2/4) = 1
7) x^2 - 4y^2 = 100
8) x^2/36 - y^2 = 1

Question 204715: How do you find the answer to this? I understand where the 150 comes from, but not the -3/2.
A farmer has a total of 300 yards of fencing. He wants to enclose a recfield and then divide it into 2 plots with a piece of fencing inside the field parallel to one of the sides. Let x represent the length of the piece of fencing located inside the field. Express teh area of the field as a function of x.
There's a diagram with a rectangle and a line almost halfway through it vertically but a little bit closer to the left side, with x next to it. The answer is A=x(150-3/2x)

Question 206394: without writing the equation in standard form state whether the equation is a HYPERBOLA, PARABOLA, CIRCLE OR AN ELLIPSE 9y2+ 18y= 25x2+216
i am completely lost with this one and i really have no idea what it is i guess im having a brain fart. :/ but if i were to guess i would say that it is an ellipse.

Question 206846: Id have a question, did I understand/do this problem right?
Problem; What is the equation of the ellipse with foci at (0,-4) and (0,4) and the sum of its focal radii being 10?
My answer; 2a=10 a=5(sum of focal radii)
(0+0/2, 4+4/2)= (0,4)
c=4 b^2= a^2-c^2= 25-16=9
equation of the ellipse is;
(x-0)^2/25 + (y-4)^2/9=1
(Is this right?)
