Question 7324: Dear Sir/Madam,
I am confronted with the following problem:
"Find a polar equation which has the same graph as the
equation ."
I assumed that this question wants you to complete the square, so I went ahead and did that.
1)
2)
Meaning that the center of this circle is at (1, 1) correct? Either way, once you have this information, how do you put this into a polar equation? Or did I approach this question entirely wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
-Mike

Question 9356: i don't know what the heck they are talking about.... really.
For all numbers x and y, that let x triangle y be defined as x triangle y = x squared + xy + y squared. What is the value of: (3 triangle 1) triangle 1?
what the f'ck!?!?!?!

Question 9378: Here is the second problem that I was talking about in another submitted question. A friend of mine thinks that the answer that we found to this question is wrong, but if it is than I don't know how to solve it. Could you help us. It is also a elipse problem that reads-
Graph the equation and find the coordinates of the foci.
(25x^2)-(144Y^2)= 3600
I think that there might be a mistake in this problem, but what do I know? That's why I'm asking you.

Question 9377: My friend and I think that the answer to this problem is wrong and we would like a second opinion. There are actually two problems, but I will post it on another seperate page. Its and elipse problem. It reads -
Graph the ellipse and find the foci. Here is the equation - (9x^2)+(4y^2)= 9
Our disagreement is over the coordinates in which the foci are located?
Could you please help us?

Question 10295: This was under the conic section of my book but I am not sure if it is a review or if it is really a conic section problem. It seems really simple but after I looked at it for a while I realized I didn't know what to do.
Find the dimentions of a rectangle that has the area of 10 and a dioganal length of 5.

Question 12488: I am trying to find the vertex and intercepts so that I can graph the parabols I have gotten this far and my mind has gone totally blank.
the equation reads ----- y = x^2 +2x -3
-b/2a = -2/3
when I insert in the equation I get 4/9 + 24/9 - 33/9
which gives me -5/9
now I am lost

Question 21661: I have an ellipse question, and I either have drawn a blank or there's a mistake somewhere. I know that I'm supposed to factor out where I can, but I just can't seem to make it work. I need to find the foci, vertex and center using the equation: 9x^2 + y^2 + 18x + 4y + 4 = 0. Can anyone help me????

Question 23046: I am given a problem and I must use a t-chart and pick any number for x, and solving it for y. Then I must graph it. I am given the problem y=3xsquared. I have chosen to use the numbers (-2,-1,0,1,2) for X. Can you help me solve for y and graph it. I am unsure if you multiply 3 time x and then square it, or square x and then multiply that times 3
