Question 946279: Hi, I can't seem to figure out how to find the equation for an ellipse given the endpoints of major axis (20,6) and (-8,6) and minor axis (6,14) and (6,-2). Answer by josgarithmetic(39620) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Major axis endpoints give information to find "a", and minor axis endpoints give information to find "b". The midpoints for each pair of axis endpoints will give the coordinates for the center of your ellipse.
(Actually, the center of the ellipse will be (6,6) ).
