Question 773279: An average school bus holds 45 people. SKETCH A GRAPH showing the relationship between the number of students who need bus transportation and the number of buses required. Be sure to label the axes.
How do i sketch a graph if i don't know how many people need bus transportation?! help please! Answer by josgarithmetic(39620) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! "SKETCH GRAPH" tells us that a line in cartesian coordinates is asked for. Let the y-axis represent the count of busses and the x-axis represent the count of students. You KNOW the slope, positive buses per student (which really just means 1 bus per 45 students). You know that when 0 students, 0 buses. You will include the origin, (0, 0) point.
For practical sense, your coordinates should be positive whole numbers, or you may want to show as a step function; you cannot use a fraction of a bus nor a fraction of a student.
