Now for ellipse, b%5E2+=+a%5E2+-+c%5E2
==> 8+=+12+-+c%5E2 ==> c%5E2+=+4 ==>c = 2, -2.
Hence the foci are (-2,0) and (2,0). (The major axis is along the x-axis.)
