Question 417507: Write an equation in standard form for each circle.
5. (0,0), radius 3
6. (0,2), radius 8
7. (5, –1), radius 6
I don't understand how to do these, help would be appreciated! Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write an equation in standard form for each circle.
If the center is (h,k) and the radius is "r", the
equation is (x-h)^2+(y-k)^2 = r^2
-------------------------------------
5. (0,0), radius 3
x^2 + y^2 = 9
-----
6. (0,2), radius 8
x^2 + (y-2)^2 = 8^2
---------------------
7. (5, –1), radius 6
(x-5)^2 + (y+1)^2 = 36

Hi
Standard Form of an Equation of a Circle is %28x-h%29%5E2+%2B+%28y-k%29%5E2+=+r%5E2
where Pt(h,k) is the center and r is the radius
5. (0,0), radius 3 x^2 + y^2 = 9
6. (0,2), radius 8 x^2 + (y-2)^2 = 64
7. (5, –1), radius 6 (x-5)^2 + (y+1)^2 = 36
