You need the focus to find the latus rectum and its endpoints. You also want to find the equation for the parabola, and you could use the focus and the directrix to help find it. What you did not make clear is exactly WHAT is your directrix? Just saying "6" is the directrix is not precise. Does your parabola open to the left, the right, upward, or downward?
