Question 249806: Below is a homework problem in which I would greatly appreciate your help in showing me the steps to complete this problem correctly. Though the answer was provided in the book,I would like to know how to do it on my own. Thank you for your patience and assistance.
Use trigonometric ratios to find the unknown sides and angles in the following right triangle. Do not use a calculator.
x =

y =

θ =

The triangle presented for the problem has the following already revealed: 60 degrees, 7 (on the side opposite the smaller angle). The rest is up to us to find. I hope I provided enough information given that the right triangle would not paste into the question box.

Question 250892: I think I need to solve for a^2 when I know c^2.
Our library is gonna buy a new LCD projector that they call 16:9 like movies on TV.
Our A/V club has a contest to choose the best projector for our school and make the best proposal after the bake sale. So if a/b=16/9 then how I can I rewrite the Pythagorean theorem to get either the height or width of where they put it and know if it is a good one for assemblies. I know that b=1.777a and that goes in somehow. thank you a lot if you can help me. -Bart
