Question 834089: If it has one leg of length 01 and a hypotenuse of length 8, what is the length of the other leg? Do not round.
So what I have figured out is that I'm looking for a or b. The problem would look like this 8^2-01^2=x^2. I've tried to solve it but I couldn't come up with an answer.
I tried 8^2=64 and 01^2=2 so I thought subtracting them and them trying to find what squares into 62 would work but nothing works.

Its for finding the sides of a right triangle.
the longest side says "x+4"
the others read "x" and "2x-2"
which equation is correct?
x^2 = (2x-2)^2 + (x+4)^2
x^2 + (x+4)^2 = (2x-2)^2
x^2 = (2x-2)^2-(x+4)^2
x^2 + (2x-2)^2 = (x+4)^2
