The diagonals of a parallogram bisect each other,
so we set the measure of XV equal to the measure of ZV

 2a-2 = %285a%2B1%29%2F4

Multiply both sides by 4

 8a-8 = 5a+1
   3a = 9
    a = 3

So the measure of XV is 2a-2 or 2(3)-2 = 4,
wjich is also the measure of ZV:
