Question 695266: Please help me answer this question: Tell whether a triangle with side lengths 11, 5, and sqrt(146) is a right triangle. Explain why or why not? Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
If it is a right triangle, then the hypotenuse must be the longest side. If and are the two shorter sides and the longest side is and then if then the triangle is right.
So figure out which of 11, 5, and is the largest number, then calculate where and are the two short sides. If the result is 146, then the triangle is right, otherwise not.
