Question 50504: How do you solve this problem?
Find the possible values for x or y.
The distance between the points (-4,6) and (2,y) is 10 units
I tried to solve this by using the distance formula, but my answer was incorrect. If you could hep, that would be great. I really just need the formula to solve this problem.
Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You would use the distance formula:
10+=+sqrt%28%28y+-+6%29%5E2+%2B+%282+%2B+4%29%5E2%29
100+=+%28y+-+6%29%5E2+%2B+36
8+=+y+-+6
14+=+y
