I don't understand your relationship with "remainder" and trying to find side lengths of triangles.

However, if you are trying to find the remainder of some expression, say 327 divided by 5 and you get an answer of 65, remainder 2, then you convert the remainder to a decimal by simply dividing the remainder by the divisor. Here, 327/5 = 65R2 = 65 2/5 = 65.4.
